My new gluing board

I always have pieces of wood left, so I decided to make my own little gluing board after buying this metall sheet for 4 Euro.
Because I wanted to change the metall sheet easily, I didn't make a total frame but only 1 right angle. If you'll make one of these jigs, make sure, that the 3 angles are asolutely square.

Then I plunged a magnet into the wooden base, so the metall sheet is held in place.
Last week I ordered some bigger magnets (on the pic are the small ones), so I'll have a perfect gluing tool for less than 10 Euro.

  2. Great idea, Andrea. I've been meaning to make this one also. I have had the metal plate ready for a long time, but just haven't gotten around to get the magnets yet! I've also made a different jig to be used with elastic bands (see: http://glaginye.blogspot.com/2010/04/houtwerk-een-nieuwe-hobby.html). Works fine, but I am still going to make the metal one. Thanks for your tutorial. That will come in helpful.

  3. Hi Marion! I know these jigs with the elastic band, but you'll see, the magnets are much more handy! So MAKE IT! And lots of fun with it.

  4. Muy buena idea usar la placa de metal y los imanes. Espero el resultado final. Esta primera parte promete mucho.
