Meet Luzi THE PAW

I'm very busy with making christmas presents and because there are people who visit this blog AND get some of these presents, I can't show it to you before the 24th. But I like to show you the house for the cats, I made 2 weeks ago. It doesn't look in the least as I'd prefer it, but the cats LOVE IT!
Meet Luzi THE PAW!
Sometimes they are playing together...

And sometimes, she just makes a show for all of us...
And sometimes she's is just in her vandalizing mode....
I wanted to paint flowers aroud the windows, but I think I'll wait till Luzi teared down the whole wall. Then I'll make a new front out of wood. She's a little monster! But at least, she concentrates on this house and the cat tree. Tulipe prefers the wallpaper in the hall... she's the bigger monster!

Be fair with copyrights

Now it is the second time, I found artwork from Marilyn on the web without a link to her wonderful website and without pointing out, that the copyright is hers.
So - if you find these pictures - you'll know now, that they belong to Marilyn Scott-Waters from The Toymaker. I think it isn't okay  to publish it without picture credits. And it isn't nice to delete comments I wrote on behalf of the copyright!
We should be thankful, that there are artists, who generously share their work. But be fair - and give them credit!

Flower Brooch for Dorit - finished

I just finished the Flower Brooch for Dorit. Because I wasn't really satisfied with the result, I added some leaf-veins in gold and made a box for it. The stupid box took much longer than the brooch and I haven't had half as much fun making it. Now monday can come, when we'll celebrating her birthday. I don't tell you which one - she'd kill me!

Flower Brooch for Dorit

Malkas (for her I made this Cooking Book)  Mother will celebrate her birthday next week. I can't believe that one year has vanished. Time flies
Dorit loves Flower Brooches and I wanted to make her a brooch in her favorite colours. For this I needed Chiffon (synthetic for once) and fortunately I had all the colours I needed.
Then I cut something like circles - not too accurate... and held the rim over a flame. The synthetic melts and curls a little bit.
Then I put one layer above the other....,
sewed everything together and added a few pearls, because this is also something Dorit likes.....
Now there is a safety pin on the backside, and she can adjust the leeves to her liking.

Building a House ...

... for the cats.
I don't have the space for a complete house for my miniatures, but when I saw a perfect cardboard box on the market I had to have it for the cats (don't say they are spoiled!). Now I'm building them a playhouse - which is very difficult, when the future owners are inspecting the progress of it every minute....

but it seems that Luzi want to settle in - although it isn't finished as yet.

Cooking Book for Malka

The last couple of days I've been busy with a cooking book for my friend Malka. She married this year and got her baby a few days ago. Because she is otherwise engaged now, she wll not look into my blog and I can show it to you. I made a soup cooking book for her mother for her 60th birthday and Malka begged, that she wanted to have one for fish recipes. When I made the book for her mother, I swore NEVER NEVER NEVER to make something like this again. It took nearly 30 hours. Now, that I recovered from the work - and forgot about the oath.... I remembered her wish and because a wedding and a cute little baby is something very special, I made her the cooking book. It took more than 30 hours and I'm curious, if I'll ever forget my new oath...
And here you can see a detail... I mixed a lot of techniques.
She can hang it in the kitchen of her new flat in Paris and I hope soooo much, that she'll like it.

Little Trash Tin for Scraps

I had an awfull looking tin, but the size and form is great - so I did a little make over. The beautiful bird is from The Graphics Fairy. You can also find a lot of backgrounds on her blog The Background Fairy. Unfortunately I forgot to make a picture from the "before". So you can only see the "after". But believe me - the tin looked pug-ugly!

WE HAVE A WINNER - Part 1

As you can see - I tidied up my working place, so I've had enough space to cut all the name slips without loosing one of it under a pile of rubbish...

And now - TADAAAAAAAAA
Ooops - there where too many slips. We'll have a second draw with the ones, they shoved from the plate...

Sh..

My feline assistents needed 5 minutes, before they shoved the winning slip from the plate and when I tried to upload the video (which I couldn't open with my programms), my laptop broke down - - - no more access to the internet. Today came our computer specialist (I'm so happy, that the company is just over the street) and get it going again. The router lost the access data. Now I don't have the guts to try the upload again - SORRY! I'm very sad, that I can't show you THE FINAL DRAWING, because it was very exciting. With the last 3 crunchies, Luzi shoved one slip over the edge of the plate. And now I have only a pic of
THE WINNER:
Congratulations Mari. Please send me your adress - and I'll bring the cake on it's way. And always remember: You can't eat the cake and still have it!
