Tarot Cards

I made a lot of beautiful old tarot cards for the KDF in 2015. Today I made the box for the first card set. It's made from bird's-eye maple wood veneer.
Many years ago I had the chance to get more than 15kg (!) veneer remnants. It was "all or nothing". So I dragged a huge sack from one end of Berlin to the other - per bus and train:) I cursed the weight, but finally at home - when I looked at all the wonderful venneers - I was only happy.
Most of the veneers I gave away and kept only the very special ones, that I can use for miniatures. Bird's-eye maple wood veneer is beautiful for minis, because of the fine vein pattern.
