Halloween Lanterns

ATTENTION: Theoretically, the lanterns can be illuminated with SMD, but I advise against it!
The SMD can get hot and paper can catch fire! 

In principle, light in miniatures / scenes should only be activated under supervision.
In any case, I am not responsible for any damage caused by illuminated lanterns!

New Circus Tents

I have been asked so often, if I make them again. So here are my new Circus Tent Toys. There are more in my ETSY Shop. The tiny figures are mounted on magnets, so they can be moved around.

Miniature Toy Drums

 

These are my first new miniatures since many years.

I was asked if I could make a tiny drum similiar to this one: 

 

I made it and thought, why not having a modern version for a contemporary scene, but there is the problem with copyrights..... okay, when there ist a problem, find a solution. So it was natural to paint my own design. 

I love how the red lion came out. Now I'm thinking about new designs..... and I feel, that I would like to make miniatures again..... 

I'm very curious about the next months.

It's been a long, long time....

I don't know, if anyone is still with me on this blog.

It's been such a long time, that I made new miniatures, but I had lost joy making them. After my husband died, I saw, that making miniatures had a lot to do with him. Showing him new ones, seeing his smile, having his support at the KDF in London and so on and so forth. I always made my minis with lots of joy and heart. This was gone.

The last years I had to redo my life and I took good care of myself.

During Corona I found back to another activity, that made me happy - drawing and painting. 

And then I got some requests via ETSY, if I could make this and that, which I did not refuse this time. 

I gave it try and found it quite relaxing. And 2 days ago I thought - why not combine miniatures and my artwork? Many years ago I designed these Funny Cubes for friends in 1:1, but also in miniature for one of my scenes (that never came to life). In the next post I'll show my first new miniature, with my own artwork.

Lobilat

May I introduce Bob & Lobilat (from left to right)...

In spring I met Miss Stanhope on the Winterfeld Market - my favourite Market in Berlin. I was looking for fruits and vegetables, when I suddenly stopped in front of a table with a very nice looking young woman.
She sold greeting and affirmation cards - with a fluffy dog.....
I loved the cards and when I heard, that she gives quite a share of her income for her project - she goes to Lebanon and brings fluffy friends to Syrian refugee kids - I bought a bunch of them.

So make yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea, settle down in front of your computer and spend a little time on her website. Adorable pictures with Lobilat from all over the world, her fluffy mission and her fluffy pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. And when you like her work - please support her mission via her shop.
And YES - this is a miniature blog - so I made a little scene with my fluffy dog Bob (I think everyone should have at least one fluffy friend) and Lobilat.

It's been a while....

I can't believe, I haven't written a post for weeks. But I've a simple apology.... I recharged my batteries with sun! I can't remember such a dark and rainy year as 2017 in my whole life. Last summer it rained so much, that a lot of trees just tumbled down, because their roots couldn't find hold in the wet ground any more. We only had a few sunny days the whole year and a dark winter. Not cold and nearly no snow - but grey, grey, grey. So when finally the first sun rays appeared, I had to spend as much time outside as possible. We had nearly no spring this year, but where catapulted into summer right away. In Berlin I normally don't put plants on the balcony before May, because we can easily get frost, but this year I had all my flower boxes ready in March!
I'll enjoy this weather as much as possible, so there won't be so many posts in the next time. Today I just show you my little bottle with baby powder. I hope you like it:)

Halloween Jumping Jacks

As I now have finished my Easter shop project I can concentrate on the next scenes. There will be 2 rooms for kids, a Halloween and a Christmas shop. I start with some Jumping Jacks.

TADAAAAAA! 

As I promised for Easter Sunday I proudly present my new Easter shop:))) 

Since a few weeks I was working on my new scene and I'm very happy with it.

On the left side you can see some glas miniatures, that are made by my friends Rainer & Heinrike (she made the perfect "sugar" eggs). The rose coloured plate is made by Phil Grenyer.
The beautiful set of ceramic bowls in the middle of the scene is made by Elisabeth Causeret. Unfortunately I don't know who made the delicate lidded basket. It's one of the first miniatures I bought a long time ago.

The ceramic mugs and lamb are made by Veronique Cornish.
The white mouse on the red platform is one of the amazing mechanical toys from L&A St Leger.

Of course I added some of the always wonderful miniatures from Veronique Lux.
The bear (he smuggled himself into the scene by wearing a hair band with rabbit ears....) and the lamb are sitting on a beautiful wickered seat. I have to admit, that I forget to make a note from whom I bought it a few years ago at the KDF in London. This a shame, because it's really beautiful. The green glas bowl is also made by Phil Grenyer.

A few spots on the shelves are vacant - that's because I ordered some miniatures from Silke Fichtner (the old fashioned wooden Erzgebirge miniatures on the first shelf) and she asked me, if I could wait a few weeks. No problem - I'm happy that I'll get them at all. They are so beautiful and just as the ones I know from my childhood.
The wooden egg stand is made by Gert und Ans Vogels-van Nassau from VONAS Miniaturen
Except of the ceramics, a few baskets, the table in the middle and the miniatures where I mentioned the artisan, I made everything myself.

Miniature Grape Hyacinths
